Who is responsible for your information
Canada Immigration Research is operated by Immigracia Visa Consulting Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a British Columbia company. We are responsible for personal information under our control and have designated Ankita Goyal as the privacy contact.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may collect your name, email address and account identifier received through Sign in with ChatGPT; membership status, renewal status and access dates; Stripe customer, subscription and transaction identifiers; messages you send us; and basic technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website, such as device, browser, IP address, request and error logs.
Payment-card details are entered directly into Stripe’s payment environment. We do not receive or store your complete card number or security code.
Why we use personal information
We use personal information to authenticate users, create and administer memberships, process and reconcile payments, provide protected library access, respond to inquiries, prevent misuse, maintain security, diagnose technical problems, comply with legal and accounting obligations, and send service or renewal communications connected to your account.
We will obtain additional consent before using personal information for a materially different purpose unless the use is otherwise permitted or required by law.
Service providers and disclosures
We may provide limited personal information to service providers that support the website, including OpenAI/ChatGPT for identity authentication, Stripe for payment and subscription administration, website hosting and infrastructure providers, and email or support providers. These providers may process information outside British Columbia or Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or website security, in connection with a business reorganization, or with your consent. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website and its service providers may use essential cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, maintain account security, complete checkout, remember necessary session information and operate the service. If optional analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, this policy and any required consent choices will be updated before they are used.
Safeguards and retention
We use administrative, technical and contractual safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We retain personal information only as long as reasonably required for the purposes described above, including legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution and security requirements, and then delete, destroy or anonymize it where appropriate.
Access, correction and withdrawal of consent
You may request access to or correction of personal information we control, subject to lawful exceptions. You may also withdraw consent to a use that depends on consent, although this may prevent us from providing account or membership services. Identity verification may be required before we respond.
Children, external links and changes
The service is intended for adults and is not knowingly directed to children under 18. The website may link to Government of Canada and other third-party sites; their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
